We had a word with Smily about everything there is in a bride’s world and took some makeup and beauty tips that could help the WeddingPlz brides! Here are few excerpts :
1. What is your advice for brides as far as their beauty routine is concerned?
- Cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine must be followed on a daily basis for prepping up for the D-day. This should be done twice daily. Besides this, exfoliate at least once a week to get rid of the dead skin cells.
- Do not go out without a sunscreen and reapply after 2 or 3 hours to avoid skin damage
- Sleep for at least 7 hours each day to avoid dark circles.
2. What are the bridal makeup trends this season? What colors are popular? Is Bollywood a major influencing factor for the brides?
Eye makeup – The smoky effect : Traditional looks with Smokey eye makeup are in trend these days….brown/bronze Smokey eye with red, orange or subtle pink lips looks stunning. Lots of people confuse smoky with shades of black and grey which is not the case, by smoky we mean anything which does not have an edgy effect and that merges with the skin..
Bollywood is definitely a major influencing factor for the Indian bridal makeup. They drive their inspiration from the looks of the leading heroines… the hairstyles, the jewelry, the makeup… bollywood is definitely the trendsetter.
3. What are some extra beauty tips a bride can follow at home so that she looks her best on her big day?
- Start a skin-care routine at least six months prior to your wedding…
- Wear sunscreen everyday..
- Eat Healthy, increase your intake of fruits and say ‘no’ to fried foods. Also drink atleast 10-12 glass of water everyday…
- Be stress free and positive
4. Is there anything to avoid while planning the pre-wedding skin care schedule?
Dont change your daily skin care routine before the wedding. This is not the time to experiment.
5. Give some makeup and beauty tips so that the bride looks her absolute best on the wedding day?
How to apply makeup is an art…
- The right color choices: They can either make or break you. So make sure you chose colors that go along with your skin tone and looks.
- Blush : Apples of your cheeks should always look natural yet glamorous…
- Eye makeup : Lashes define your eye.Adding a touch of shimmer on your lid makes you look beautiful and yet never over-done.
6. What are essentials that newly wed bride should always carry in her purse?
Not only a newly wed bride but any girl should always carry the following things in her purse.
- Sunscreen- a prolonged exposure to sun can really damage our skin, so a re-application of sunscreen every 4 hrs is a must
- Kajal & Mascara- you can never be complete without these two, kajal to define your eyes and mascara to highlight them
- Lip shade or balm – chapped or discolored lips never look nice so a soft colored lip balm or shade is a must , to give you a natural yet good look
- Light compressed powder – Last but not the least, a compressed powder that goes along with your complexion – to make you look ready and good to go.
7. Your advice for WeddingPlz brides.
Bridal makeup is not about wearing lots of makeup, its about wearing the right makeup in the right quantity. And above everything else, we all are special and beautiful in our own ways, lets just be proud of it!
