How Radhika Got Rishab
Radhika & Rishab met 6 years ago in New York at university. They had an instant connection and spoke for close to 4 hours nonstop in the snow and in the next meeting, their conversation lasted for 5 hours. It was obvious that the two loved each other’s company and had far too much in common. ‘We’ve travelled a lot together around the world and been for a whole lot of gigs. We are a solid part of the Anjuna family who loves us dearly across the globe. Fast forward to Feb 8th 2021, I said yes to him on a trip to the Maldives where he did the most beautiful set-up for our proposal. He truly makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the whole wide world’, says the bride.
The Pre-Wedding Festivities
To start with the venue, it was on top of a hill in Karjat and had an infinity pool as well as a lazy river connecting 14 rooms! That made everyone fall in love with the place instantly. They had sustainable products and reusable customized items in the welcome hampers for the guests as sustainability lies very close to their hearts.
Day Rituals
A squid game themed, boho, super (you can read it as suuupppeerrr) fun pool party where people were made to wear squid game masks for Radhika & Rishab’s entry with smoke bombs. The couple had gotten the squid game decor custom made and played Aqua Tug of War, Glass bridge hopscotch and Green Light, Red Light amongst other drinking games. Furthermore, they had Flaming Trios, the celebrity bartenders, made fabulous customized drinks for the whole event. The celebration also had the amazing Russian techno artist, Amaya, play at their pre-wedding events. Radhika wore a pink evil eye sequinned bikini by the very famous Seaqueen/Discount Universe (Kylie Jenner has worn it to Coachella too) and got a tassel skirt custom-designed to pair with the bikini and it looked fabulous. The look was completed with a white veil.
Night Events
A very tasteful Masquerade Ball was hosted where all the guests were provided beautiful mysterious masks to pair with their western formal outfits. ‘We had a gorgeous dance floor where we performed a well-rehearsed Bachata dance and made a toast with a champagne tower. We slid mystery riddles on mask-shaped invites under our guests’ room doors for them to solve and give their answers to the usher to be admitted to the venue. We had, what our guests call, the most memorable and fun afterparty where Amaya played afro tech’, says the bride.
The Wedding Celebration
The wedding of Radhika & Rishab took place at Gallops. They ditched typical Bollywood music for the 80s and 90s English love songs that Radhika grew up listening to. It was a dreamy moment to witness as ‘Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You’ was playing while the couple were taking their wedding vows.
Breaking The Stereotypes
The couple chose to have a Female priest who performed their wedding rituals, an idea about which both were equally very passionate. Over cluttered mandap was replaced by a wooden minimalistic mandap with some flowers and a whole lot of absolutely gorgeous Victorian chandeliers. Radhika ditched maangtika for a Czech crown. ‘Our bottom line was that whatever we do on our most important day in life, has to be true to ourselves. We had an amazing hill station with weather and breeze supporting us that day. Everything was just perfect. And that’s how I married my King’, says the bride.
Why The Crown? Explains Radhika!
When you’re marrying a King, you gotta look like a Queen, right? I’ve followed this Czech artist for a long time and just absolutely swooned over her work. It’s beyond exceptional. I decided that what better way than to make her art an integral part of my life than on my wedding day. I truly believe Indian girls should get the chance to feel like a true queen on their wedding day and I’d like to see more of this going forward.
Not to miss, the wedding elaborated Authenticity, Regality & Joy in its true sense!
