Couturier Varun Bahl unveiled his stunning Couture Showcase, A Love Letter to Kashmir, yesterday in a remarkable event organised in collaboration with FICCI FLO Hyderabad at The Lalit Srinagar, Kashmir. The show was a momentous occasion, as it marked the first high-profile fashion showcase to grace the beautiful landscapes of Kashmir in nearly four decades.
For Varun Bahl, this choice of location was more than just a fashion statement; it was a heartfelt journey back to his roots. Hailing from a family with deep ties to Kashmir, Varun’s father grew up amidst the picturesque landscapes of this region. His childhood memories are woven with the enchanting beauty of Dal Lake and the captivating allure of the Kashmir Valley. Thus, choosing Kashmir as the backdrop for his showcase was a deeply sentimental decision, an ode to his father’s love for this land.
The Couture Showcase, A Love Letter to Kashmir, was a testament to Varun Bahl’s affection for exotic blooms, the lyrical charm of poetry, the romance that lies in the heart of Kashmir, and the pursuit of true love. Varun’s designs have always found inspiration in the melodies of romantic love songs and the pristine beauty of nature. This show, therefore, became a lyrical love song to Kashmir, a place that he holds dear in his heart – Kashmir Meri Jaan.
The event was made even more special by the gracious presence of celebrities Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem, who closed the couture showcase for Varun Bahl. The sibling duo, who share a deep friendship with Mr. Bahl, also have their roots deeply embedded in Kashmir, making them the perfect fit for this historic occasion.
Huma Qureshi looked resplendent in a Champagne Gold Bridal Lehenga, adorned with intricate sequins, bugle beads, and dabka work, complemented by a graceful veil. On the other hand, Saqib Saleem exuded charm in a classic black sherwani set, embellished with meticulous black cutdana work. He paired this with a solid black kurta and embellished trousers, perfectly capturing the essence of the event.
Adding to the grandeur of the showcase, the House of Rambhajos curated a special collection of jewels that perfectly resonated with Varun Bahl’s designs and the cultural essence of Kashmir. This exclusive collection celebrated the rich diversity and opulence of India’s royal heritage. Each piece was a testament to the brand’s commitment to creating heirloom-quality regalia that could be cherished and passed down through generations.
