The much-anticipated Met Gala 2024 has arrived! Let’s be honest, we’ve all taken a peek at those quirky gala outfits at some point, and it’s always a blast, isn’t it? This year’s dress code, The Garden of Time, draws inspiration from J.G. Ballard’s very touching short story, where a character tries to hold back chaos by plucking flowers. This theme reflects on how fashion, like those flowers, blooms briefly before fading away.

It’s all about embracing the fleeting nature of beauty against the backdrop of inevitable change. And guess who’s stealing the spotlight? None other than Alia Bhatt and Isha Ambani, bringing their own brand of elegance and charm to the soirée.
Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt wore a beautiful outfit designed by Sabyasachi. The saree was all decked out with intricate embroidery, fancy beadwork, and shiny stones, giving off major royal vibes. It also had these chic fringes inspired by the 1920s.
And can we talk about the colours? Inspired by nature’s palette, her ensemble echoed the earth, sky, and sea in the most breathtaking way.
But it wasn’t just about the outfit; Alia’s hair and makeup were on point too. Think an elegant updo adorned with braids that looked like they were straight out of a fairy tale.
Overall, Alia Bhatt’s Met Gala look was a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. It showcased the best of Indian fashion in a way that felt fresh and oh-so-chic.

Isha Ambani
Isha’s Rahul Mishra outfit at the Met Gala was an absolute showstopper. Rocking a bespoke hand-embroidered couture sari gown, she stayed true to the theme flawlessly. What’s truly remarkable is that this stunning creation took over 10,000 hours to complete!
All the delicate flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies are intricately woven into the fabric using techniques like Fareesha, Zardozi, Nakshi, and Dabka embroidery, as well as French knots.
To complete the look, Isha adorned herself with traditional lotus hand bracelets, parrot earrings, and a flower choker designed by Viren Bhagat, adding the perfect finishing touches to this unforgettable ensemble.
