Aashima is a Marketing Communications Manager, while Parth is a lawyer by profession and an astrophotographer by passion. They first met in Ahmedabad, during the peak of the second wave of Covid-19 in April 2021. With partial lockdown in the city closing all places for dine-in, they met and connected over Starbucks takeaway dates, and finally said yes to each other in a matter of just two months!
‘My husband Parth, being an astrophotographer loves reading and capturing some of his favorite constellations and deep-sky celestial objects. I always pay attention to every detail – and wanted our wedding to reflect our own personalities. I was involved in every detailed discussion with my wedding planner. In fact, I even dedicated my mehndi design to planetary themes’, shares Aashima.
The uncertainties of Omicron lingered in the air (literally) during their wedding, but an intimate gathering helped both Parth & Aashima make the most of all festivities with the presence of close friends and family.
A wedding between two persons is a beautiful amalgamation of their own personalities, their ideologies, and each element from their wedding very thoughtfully represented the same.
Anar Baag – Intimate Mehndi at Home
A bright palette of colours, a profusion of marigolds and all things quirky is what comes to mind when we think of a mehndi function. Elysian by Fuhaar stepped away from the usuals and created a beautiful Anaar Baag at the bride – Aashima Kadakia’s nani’s home – where she has had the fondest childhood memories. Adding a dash of creativity in this intimate setup, Fuhaar and her team played with natural elements – like half-cut pomegranates, bright red roses, finely ripened grapes, keeping it vibrant yet minimalistic. The exotic fresh and dry fruits, and flowers amid a natural backdrop of beautiful green plants in the garden made for a statement seating arrangement tying the entire look together.
Lilac Haldi Ceremony
When the most important ingredient of the event is yellow, what do you do with it? Add a generous splash lilac and have some fun! For this winter morning intimate haldi and puja event, Elysian by Fuhar chose to go the lilac & white way with lots of Rajnigandha flowers complimenting the lilac drapes, florals, and elements. Keeping it traditional yet contemporary with the décor and ofcourse, complimented by the bride’s lilac-mauve lehenga made from her mom’s 31-year-old engagement saree.
Starry Night – Enaganement & Dance
Parth loves the night sky and Aashima loves the celestial marvels he shows her. So they made their own little universe – as bright as the love between them!
At their Sangeet function, the bride Aashima decided to surprise the groom Parth with a starry theme dedicated to his passion for all things astro! From his favourite constellations on the cushions and the table toppers, to a star-lit wishing corner, they also had a life size moon installation put up as a backdrop.
It was a full moon day, with the moon rising right in front of our installation. Call it a coincidence? We call it destiny!
Wedding Theme – Shrinathji Chauri
Ever since the first meeting, the bride – Aashima was sure of one thing – she wanted the Shrinathji element in her chauri. With no pictures of references to share, but the brief being ‘An open chauri and shrinathji backdrop’, it was only justified that Elysian by Fuhaar made her imagination come to life. A trip to the Nathdwara temple in Rajasthan, conversations with the pichwai artist, picking up jewels to put on the crown and counting days to see the final result – the Shrinathji ‘Mukharbind’ on the backdrop became the highlight of the event with people sitting and gazing at the outcome. Ideally placed in the center of the chauri backdrop, in an apt way to shower blessings on our couple as they took their vows and started a new chapter together, the shades of orange and pink in the décor complemented well to this intimate Gujarati wedding function.
