Making Moments Last Forever – A Photographer’s Delight !

The best thing about being a wedding photographer is leaving a legacy of memories that will be cherished not only by our clients, but their future generations as well. Before every picture and every click, we take a moment to think about the people, who would be born 10, 20 or even 30 years from now and who would be looking at the pictures that we are about to create; and we feel privileged!

From a windowless office in corporate London to the freedom of creation and style… they knew Photography was their calling. It’s been a long road for New Delhi based Wedding photographers Lokesh and Palak Sharma… here is some interesting conversation we had with them.

1. Tell us a little about yourself? Did you study photography or are you self taught? What inspired you to become a wedding photographers?

Hi, we’re Lokesh and Palak from iMoments. We work together as a duo, covering every angle of your day. Working as a couple gives us an opportunity to see things from two different perspectives with Palak capturing more feminine, beautiful shots and Lokesh getting those genuine, emotional little moments. A strong background in art, fashion photography and movie directing, helps us find visually creative shots full of light, original compositions and lovely moments with a touch of film.

Pastel tones, natural light and shallow depth of field are things which are very important for us. Aesthetics is just one small part of our photography, though for us it’s the story, your story which matters the most to us. During the day we’re silent and shoot moments as they happen, you will never see us telling your nearest and dearest what to do to create a moment. We silently wait till the moments happen and capture it in their most creative and beautiful way.

2. How would you describe your style? Which is the favorite moment of the wedding that u love to click?

Elegant, timeless, creative. We specialize in storytelling photography filled with beautiful soft light and gentle colour palette. We love capturing stories, and weddings are by far the best place for that. It is a chance to see true love and genuine emotion, whilst being in the midst of the happiest day of peoples’ lives.

We have the opportunity to mix styles, such as fine art, fashion and documentary photography, which gives us the chance to be immersed in all of our interests in the space of just one day! Your wedding is one of the most important day in your life and with that in mind, this makes our job not only hugely important, but a real honor. It’s something we pour our heart and soul in to.

4. One experience – interesting / extravagant / outrageous, that stands out in your mind in your photography experience

There are so many…. One wedding that does stand out for us though was a small wedding that was held at village hall, nothing special, no great scenery, but what was really special was the amount of emotions going on!

Whenever we meet a couple we always ask them about themselves as people, their interests, how they met, etc and really encourage them to find a way of making their wedding unique to them, that maybe only the two of them will know and notice.

Any wedding is incomplete without a good photographer and he is the only person who can bring cheers even after your marriage when you and your family members see the album. Lokesh’s work look really admirable to me. Keep up the good work Lokesh and Palak.
