Photographers mainly start with street photography or landscape photography, mainly for the reason that the shoot is completely in their hands and thus saves them from various types of complications. Neeraj Agnihotri would have started with the same, but it was the colorful life of monkeys that changed his plans. Soon, he started capturing each and every emotion shown by monkeys with the help of his camera incessantly. He believed that their expressive faces can give tough competition to even humans, and there is not even a single point to deny that as we share a common history. (Thanks to Mr. Darwin for making us aware of this unquestionable link). And this formed the first phase of his career as a photographer. Second phase started when he finally moved to Delhi for his graduation. As he was a student of Journalism and Mass Communication, Street photography and lifestyle photography became his next stint. He discovered the world around him with his camera which lent narratives to his subject. At the same time, he joined Team Pages, a Delhi based NGO, as it's documentary photographer. Thus, he started using his photographic skills to raise awareness in society. The winning of photography competition organised by Media fest at such a young age gave his photographic desires a new direction. And with camera in his hand and bubbling ideas in his head, soon world around him turned into his canvas.
