    About Us

    The Creative Lens was founded in Basel, Switzerland in 2011 by Shweta and Soumak, a husband-wife photographer duo. Initially the focus was mostly on lifestyle Photography, but soon interest in wedding photography grew and became the main focus of The Creative Lens. Over time both quit their careers in Information Technology to be full time in this dream venture.

    The Creative Lens now comprises of a core team of three very creative and amicable people - Sudhanshu, now being the third team member.

    The Creative Lens was founded in Basel, Switzerland in 2011 by Shweta and Soumak, a husband-wife photographer duo. Initially the focus was mostly on lifestyle Photography, but soon interest in wedding photography grew and became the main focus of The Creative Lens. Over time both quit their careers in Information Technology to be full time in this dream venture.

    The Creative Lens now comprises of a core team of three very creative and amicable people - Sudhanshu, now being the third team member.

    ​Each have their own styles of shooting and an extensive wedding photography experience. This helps them complement each other to provide a coverage that is simple, elegant and story-telling.

    ​With more than 120 wedding assignments covered across cultures and nationalities, we got to know about new cultures and different ways in which this important day is celebrated in people's lives. We like to be not only photographers, but also good friends for our couples to provide them with memories that would remain with them for ages to come.

    At the moment, Soumak manages the operational aspects of the Wedding Photography of TCL and Shweta looks after the Lifestyle Photography. In addition to photography, Soumak also takes up Documentary Video Shoots for the Wedding Films.

    ​Sudhanshu loves to travel extensively (in fact he completed a Jaipur-Kanyakumari trip on a bicycle recently) and dabbles a lot with fine-art photography in his free time.

    Shweta and Soumak have a lovely, bubbly 6 year old daughter - Dhriti - who keeps them busy at other times. They also love travelling, cooking and watching movies together. Two tiny pug pups - Mini and Cooper - complete the family.

    ​Although, The Creative Lens has covered weddings which required a big team and will continue to do so, our heart and soul lies in weddings which are really simple and intimate affairs between families and need only the core team's involvement. To that effect, we are constantly on the lookout for aspects that make weddings unique and adds an interesting story to it.
