    The Kalpana story began almost four decades ago in a quaint corner of Connaught Place, with a dream to bring the best of the crafts in ethnic clothing under one roof for the best clientele in Delhi. In order to achieve the dream, Kalpana has continuously endeavored to locate the best weavers, artisans and craftsmen. Years have been invested in a bid to understand their work ethos, lifestyles and influences, so as to nurture their skills and bring out their best. Masterpieces from all over India are hand-picked and then worked upon before they blend together as yarn in a common fabric called Kalpana. The romance with Indian ethnicity continues in terms of the interiors of the outlets too. The interiors at each of the Kalpana outlets reflect a unique cultural setting sculpted from India's architectural heritage. Take for instance, the Gurgaon store that draws its influence from traditional Rajasthan. The outlet at Select Citywalk, Saket intertwines ancient brickwork with wall-paintings from the North-Eastern region. Fashion is time-bound. Tradition on the contrary, keeps evolving.     If handloom suits and sarees are your cup of tea, Kalpana is the place for you. With a wide collection from different parts of the country, you are not likely to return empty handed from this place. I have myself just walked into their CP store on seeing their display and walked out with birthday gifts for my mom. Their collection is more suited to everyday workwear and evening soirées.

    Apart of a reasonably good collection of dress materials and a reasonable collection of sarees there is nothing great about the store.
