Gunvantbhai Shah also known as among his friends and colleagues is the Promotor of Ideal Marriage Bureau & Counselling Centre - his "Brain Child" As an individual who wants his brain child to grow steadily is a Painter, a Technocrat, an ex-Share-Broker and a Social Worker.
Born in 1934, he graduated from Bombay University and in 1958 joined Golden Chemicals belonging to the family of shree Chatrabhuj Narsee. As a manufacturing chemist he gained valuable experience in the field of Production, Quality Control and Management. The management was pleased to sponsor him for Diploma in Industrial Management (D.I.M.) when the course was first started by Bombay University in 1961. This enriched his experience and laid the foundation of his industrial career.
Five years of allround experience in Golden Chemicals helped him to shoulder the responsibilities as the Chief Chemist in Catalyst (India) Ltd. a company promoted by the Chinai family. The company had the distnction of bringing the technology of manufacturing Vanadium Catalyst for the first time in India in Collaboration with Monsanto, U.S.A. He discharged his responsibilities creditably, and worked to maintain International Standards in quality control, in import substitution & organising Technical Services for the Sulphuric Acid Plants across the country.
After serving the Chemical Industry for 10 years he joined T. Maneklal in the Rubber Division exposing himself to Rubber Technology & Engineering.Here was an opportunity to serve a great many industries viz. Chemicals, Fertilisers, Textile, Paper, Printing, Leather etc.
Ending a memorable career of 25 years in industry he joined his family business as a Share-Broker in 1984 till he retired. His other interests are painting, interior decoration, travel & tours, child education & social work. One of the oldest members of The Bombay Productivity Council he is also a life member of Kala Gurjari.
Having keen interest in child education he took the opportunity to attend children's classes in a pre-school during his six months stay in U.S.A. He attended the classes thrice in a week for three months.It was a rewarding experience interacting with children & teachers alike. ... ...Less
