Ankita Asthana Photography

Ankita Asthana is a freelance photographer who loves to travel and hence loves her job which takes her around the world. She thinks of herself as a visual storyteller. Her unique sense of narrative gives her an edge over other commercial photographers. She loves experimenting and learning new things on the move. She has learnt to balance her commercial work with her personal work so that she can enjoy photography and at the same time pay her bills.
After her formal education as an architect, she wandered off to NID (National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad) to quench her thirst of learning photography. From there, during her masters, she ended up going on an exchange program to UCA (University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, UK) to learn colour photography. Both these experiences were extremely enriching in terms of people she met, cameras she used, photographs she created and things she learnt. After her post graduation, she quit her old architecture job, decided to be on her own.
She shoots everything under the sun be it Fashion, Lifestyle, Architecture, Product, Wedding, Travel, Portraiture, Editorial, Events. She did her internship under fashion photographer Vishesh Verma, she was Bhajan Maestro Padma Sri Anup Jalota’s personal photographer, covered fashion weeks, various events for Wizcraft, worked for magazines, advertising assignments and many other things apart from capturing weddings. She has taken wedding photography to another level. When she takes up a wedding photography assignment, she takes personal interest in the decoration, lighting, trousseau, make-up artist, etc to make sure that everything is perfect for her bride. She also makes beautiful candid wedding films.
After working in Delhi, she moved to Mumbai to explore the fashion hub of our country and get a taste of its fast paced lifestyle. She strives to build an esteemed clientele and always deliver quality work with utmost professionalism.

“I like to first follow my heart and then go with the flow. An inherent dreamer, I started out in this world by travelling to various places, exploring the hidden mysteries and interacting with new people. What began with documentation of travels, nature, architecture, art forms, people became my sole passion – photography. To me photography is a means of self-expression, a depiction of life as my reality. Because no one sees things in quite the same way, it is my vision, expressed. I take photographs to channel my passion and curiosity for the world. From architecture to photography, the fire that keeps me going is my urge to create.
